Belgium – Teacher Training

Date: 1–5 July 2024
Location: GO! Atheneum Grimbergen
Target group: Teachers from Belgium, Poland, and Türkiye

Highlights:

  • Opening Ceremony and introduction of partner schools

  • Logo Competition – participants vote on the project logo

  • CLIL Methodology Training – integrating content and language learning

  • STEM Seminars – focus on natural resources and eco-awareness

  • Web 2.0 Workshops – digital tools for education (e.g., Bubbl.us, blog creation)

  • Sustainability Focus – seminars on eco-friendly teaching practices

Day 2:CLIL Methodology Training:A training session on CLIL methodology was conducted, covering objectives, integration into the classroom, how to teach CLIL, and the benefits of CLIL. 


Seminars on eco-friendly practices such as natural resource conservation, energy and water saving, as well as a seminar on STEM(Science, Technology,Engineering,and Mathematics) and its fundamental principles.

Logo Competition:The winner of the logo competition was determined by the votes of all participants  

Mobility in Belgium (Campus Fenix – GO! Atheneum Grimbergen)

Dates: Monday, July 1 to Friday, July 5, 2024
Location: Campus Fenix – GO! Atheneum Grimbergen & surroundings
Participants: Teachers from Belgium, Poland, and Türkiye

Day 1 – Monday, July 1: Welcome & Kick-off


  • 09:30 – Welcome at school – coffee and pastries

  • 10:00 – Opening ceremony: introductions and partner school presentations

  • 12:00 – Lunch at school

  • 13:00 – Guided tour of Campus Fenix + interactive icebreaker activities

  • 16:00 – Free time

  • 18:00 – Welcome dinner (local restaurant in Grimbergen)

Day 2 – Tuesday, July 2: Visit to the European Parliament

  • 08:00 – Departure to Brussels

  • 10:00 – Guided tour through the European Quarter

  • 13:00 – 17:00Visit to the European Parliament:
    ➤ Guided visit, presentation on the EU institutions
    ➤ Q&A on youth and education policies
    ➤ Meeting with a Member of the European Parliament (if available)

  • 17:30 – Return to Grimbergen

  • Evening: Free time or optional group activity

Day 3 – Wednesday, July 3: STEM & CLIL Workshops at School

  • 09:00 – Workshop on CLIL methodology in STEM education

  • 10:00 – Hands-on STEM activities on sustainability (e.g. Arduino, sensors, CO₂ tracking)

  • 12:30 – Lunch at school

  • 13:30 – Digital tools in education: creating mind maps, using Padlet, Canva, etc.

Day 4 – Thursday, July 4: Culture & Sustainability

  • 09:00 – Visit to Technopolis or Planetarium Brussels (interactive science exhibitions)

  • 13:00 – Picnic or lunch on-site

  • 14:30 – Visit to an ecological or sustainability project (mooimakers @t school)

  • 16:30 – Free time in Brussels city center (short guided walk or souvenir shopping)

  • 19:00 – Farewell dinner with all participants

Day 5 – Friday, July 5: Reflection & Closing

  • 09:00 – Reflection activities in international groups 

  • 12:00 – Lunch and farewell

  • 12:30 – Creative session: posters or short videos titled "What I've learned"

  • 15:30 – Certificate ceremony and group photo

  • 19:00 – Departure of international participants
